After several years of debates, ECHA published the Guidance on authorisation application. The guidance describes the process of applying for authorisation as well as the process of developing a substitution plan. Companies applying for authorisation will now have to prepare a substitution plan in any case, no matter whether they follow the socio-economic route for authorisation or the adequate control route.
