ECHA Recommends 8 Substances for Authorisation

On December 17 the ECHA has recommended that eight chemical substances of very high concern should not be used without specific auhtorisation. Four of these are currently classified as carcinogenic and toxic to reproduction, three as carcinogenic and one as toxic to reproduction:

  • Diisobutyl phthalate
  • Diarsenic trioxide
  • Diarsenic pentaoxide
  • Lead chromate
  • Lead sulfochromate yellow
  • Lead chromate molybdate sulphate red
  • Tris(2-chloroethyl)phosphate
  • 2,4-Dinitrotoluene

This is the second time ECHA recommends SVHCs for authorisation, the first recommendation was in June 2009.
