REACH-IT bulk pre-registration functionality available! |

REACH-IT bulk pre-registration functionality is finally available!
REACH-IT allows companies to submit pre-registration files for
substances. The new functionality was launched on 22 July and it will
allow companies pre-registering substances to submit a file covering up
to 500 substances. l
Note that pre-registration deadline is end of November! If you miss
this deadline you'll have to submit a full registration dossier prior
to producing or importing substances to the EU.

ECHA Launch 1st Consultation on SVHC |
|
ECHA launched the 1st consultation on the substances of very high
concern. These substances have been proposed by EU Member States for
inclusion in the first the candidate list. Both the list and
consultation are available at the url below. The deadline to comment is
August 14.

ECHA Committee for Risk Assessment Operational |
The Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) met in Helsinki for the first
time 29 – 31 January. The RAC plays a key role in formulating the
opinion of the Agency in regard to:

Assessing the risk from a
use(s) of a substance to human health and/or the environment arising
from those uses for which authorisation is being sought.

Evaluating as to
whether the restrictions suggested by a Member State or the European
Chemicals Agency for a substance are appropriately reducing the risk to
human health and/or the environment
-
Evaluating
proposals from Member States for harmonised classification and
labelling of a substance as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for
reproduction category 1, 2 or 3, or as a respiratory sensitiser, or
also for other effects on a case-by-case basis

Beratung der Kommission über ausgenommene Stoffe |

Die Kommission hat eine Beratungsrunde einberufen über die von REACH ausgenommenen Stoffe: Frist 30. November!
Die Kommission wurde damit beauftragt, eine bestimmte Anzahl von Revisionen mancher Anhänge der REACH-Verordnung durchzuführen. Einer dieser Anhänge ist Anhang IV, der die Stoffe enthält, die von der Registrierung, Bewertung und den Verpflichtungen für nachgeschaltete Anwender ausgenommen sind, weil für diese Stoffe ausreichend Informationen vorhanden sind, so dass davon ausgegangen wird, dass sie wegen ihrer inhärenten Stoffeigenschaften ein minimales Risiko verursachen.
Die Kommission muss eine Revision von Anhang IV vor dem 1. Juni 2008 durchführen und, falls erforderlich, muss die Kommission auch über das Ausschusswesen im Regelungsverfahren mit Kontrolle Vorschläge zur Abänderung des Anhangs machen.
In diesem Rahmen können Interessenvertreter Vorschläge zur Aufnahme/Entfernung von Stoffen in/aus Anhang IV bei den zuständigen Behörden der Mitgliedstaaten bis zum 30. November 2007 einreichen, wenn sie die im beiliegenden Dokument genannten Kriterien und Dokumentationsanforderungen erfüllen.
